As we approach a new decade, there is a lot to be excited about in the world of music. Limits are constantly being banished, which means that artists are pushing and merging genre boundaries to produce music that is fresh, exciting and never heard before. As always, many new acts will be introduced to the scene in the New Year. Below are five acts that I think will spearhead the revolutionary and successful in 2010.
Ellie Goulding – has just won the Brit Awards 2010 Critic’s Choice Prize, which is evidence enough that she is going to be big. After performing her single "Under the Sheets" on Later... with Jools Holland, Goulding has been all over the press, being dubbed as the one to watch in 2010.

Julian Perretta – has supported Girls Aloud, Mark Ronson and most recently Beyoncé on her latest London tour. His style encompasses influences from the 70s and 80s and can be described as no less than vibrant melodic bliss. There is no doubt he’ll be a success. Watch out for his single release in January.

Jessie J – has outrageously good vocals, brilliant songs with an infiltration of influences, and is an amazing lyricist who has written for the likes of Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus. You will have heard her song "Sexy Silk" on the Nivea ad.

Master Shortie – has recently been supporting N-Dubz on their tour. Master Shortie is new on the Grime scene and brings a fresh edge by injecting 80s and rock vibes into his music. Tipped as one to watch by the BBC.

Bridgette Amofah – is the lead singer of Oi Va Voi, the band that KT Tunstall used to front. Amofah is currently recording her debut solo album and is a talent everyone should be looking out for in 2010.
