I came across Things Last - a magnificent piece of filmmaking on a budget - a few weeks ago, but thought I'd save it until Christmas day because it really is an incredible treat.
While critics have been hailing Paranormal Activity for its ability to scare the living daylights out of people despite being produced on a shoestring budget of $15,000, that's nothing compared to shortfilm Things Last - a filmic vision of the future with special effects on a par with The Fifth Element or the Minority Report, and it was created for just $7,000. That wouldn't even be able to afford you Tom Cruise's gesture gloves in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of the Philip K. Dick novel The Minority Report. Amazing!
