Leading German marque BMW has taken the wraps off the sixth generation of its popular BMW 5 Series saloon.
The new 5 Series will come with innovative technologies such as Auto Start-Stop, an eight-speed automatic transmission and a double-wishbone front suspension, and its design is a radical departure from that of the fifth generation which featured 'flame styling' that drew inspiration from the deconstructivism architecture movement. Instead, the design is a lot more subtle, with the sixth generation featuring a more flowing roofline, a countoured bonnet and an upright kidney grille. The outcome is a stunning car that leaves you with no doubts as to why the 5 Series brand has achieved longevity.
The performance stats are equally impressive, with the flagship model able to reach a top speed of 155mph and a 0-62mph of 5.0 seconds.
The 5 Series will go on sale in March 2010. Prices will range between £27,555-49,440.
